THE STORY BEHIND PIO

In the heart of Copenhagen, in 2017, the remarkable PIOskincare clinic and its exquisite products came into existence, founded by the exceptionally talented and medically certified Skin Therapist, Sarah Elahi. Sarah's passion for cosmetics bloomed from a tender age, sparked by her mother's captivating beauty cabinet when she was just 2 years old. While other children sought toys, young Sarah found her fascination in her mother's makeup, creams, and delicate perfumes. As she grew, her curiosity deepened, and by the age of 10, she was engrossed in Maurice Messeguis' book, "Health Secrets of Plants & Herbs," the mayor of Provence, which opened her eyes to the wonders of natural cosmetics.

With a creative spirit, Sarah crafted her first self-made cream at a remarkable age of 16, nurturing her passion further. In 1992, she earned her degree as a medical certified Skin Therapist from Hudterapeut Skolen Af 1936 in Copenhagen, Denmark, sharpening her skills to bring the best to her clients.

Fate led Sarah to encounter Anders, a skilled cosmetic producer for a Danish company, whose friendship became a turning point in her journey. Inspired by their bond, Sarah embarked on a mission to create an entire line of beauty products that resonated with her philosophy of natural skincare. Thus, "Green Soap & Beauty" was born, enchanting customers who flocked to her flagship store in Copenhagen. The shop's success caught the attention of prominent publications, earning it a spot in New York Times' prestigious travel guide, "Time Out," for two consecutive years. However, Sarah's ambition knew no bounds.

In 2008, she sought to enhance her expertise, delving into oxygen lift treatments under the guidance of Michelle Peck, the acclaimed skin therapist of singer Madonna. Eager to provide her clients with the latest and most effective techniques, she pursued courses in laser hair removal and wrinkle treatments at Alma Laser. 

PIO IS MORE NATURAL THAN EVER

With three decades of experience, Sarah specialized in organic skincare which finally led to the foundation of PIO in 2017. All PIO products are currently developed and handmade at PIO’s production facilities in Copenhagen under the supervision of Sarah. Even though the PIO clinic is discreetly hidden in the heart of Copenhagen, the clinic attracts a wide range of customers from Denmark and abroad. The clinic is known for its honest and transparent approach to effective skincare and the skincare brand’s deep respect for the environment. Due to Sarah’s big interest in the environment, the clinic only makes use of natural organic certified ingredients with no perfume, parabens or Sodium Laureth Sulfate. All-natural. All vegan. All bottles are as far as possible biodegradable and reusable.

The clinic’s signature treatment is the Oxygen Lift; a treatment that penetrates the skin with hyaluronic acid, vitamin A+B+C, and botanical enzymes that minimize visible fine lines by the use of a special airbrush technique. A true PIO hero that delivers visible results after the first treatment. The clinic offers a full range of specialized PIOskincare products to accommodate any skin challenges under the personal guidance of Sarah Elahi.
